Matching Motor Path Activities

Turn simple matching into a closed-ended motor activity with a clear start, finish, and reset. These printable matching sets are designed to help therapists and teachers add purpose and repetition to motor paths, sensory-motor stations, and gross motor activities.

This resource includes 3 related-picture matching activities—bus to school, apple to apple tree, and hay bales to tractor—with 4 repetitions per set, plus 8 fall-themed identical picture matches.

Place matching pictures at opposite ends of a movement route. Students carry a picture while completing a motor activity, match it at the destination, and repeat. Because copies are available at both ends, the activity is ready for the next student without having to completely reset the station.

Use with activities such as crawling, crash-pad work, steam roller activities, balance paths, scooter activities, jumping, or other motor challenges that fit your students and space.

Targets: motor planning • gross motor skills • visual matching • attention • following directions • task completion • purposeful repetition

Great for: preschool and elementary special education classrooms, OT/PT sessions, motor rooms, sensory-motor stations, and small groups.
